Patriot Athlete of the Week: Sami Sheaffer
It is another Monday, which means it’s time for another Patriot Auto Area Athlete of the Week.
We have an appropriate one for this week, as we feature Bartlesville High girls’ basketball senior Sami Sheaffer.
Bartlesville High advanced to the 6A State Tournament on Saturday thanks to a fantastic afternoon from Sheaffer, who scored 27 points in a Bruin win over Broken Arrow.
Sheaffer transferred into Bartlesville High before last season and has been stellar ever since. Sheaffer talks about what the transition has been like.
Sheaffer played her first season at Oklahoma Union and was then homeschooled for her second year.
She talks about playing for head coach Justyn Shaw and with her teammates.
One of Sheaffer’s best attributes throughout her Lady Bruin career has been her unselfishness. Sheaffer is second on the team in assists, with more than 70 in Bartlesville’s 27 games.
She talks about her style of play.
Sheaffer has signed with Central Arkansas to play NCAA Division I basketball next season. She talks about why she chose to become a Sugar Bear.
