Kelcie Avallone This Week's Patriot Auto Athlete of the Week
It's another Monday and that means it's time for another Patriot Auto Group Area Athlete of the Week. This time we go to Barnsdall and feature girl's wrestler Kelcie Avallone.
Avallone, who has more than 100 pins in her career, wrestles in the 115 pound weight class and began competing when she was in seventh grade at Pawhuska. Avallone moved to Barnsdall in high school and says the transition was flawless.
Avallone goes on to talk about the growth she has seen in the sport of women's wrestling since she began competing six years ago.
Regionals are in two weeks. Even though she is a senior and has a 35-3 record this year, Avallone said she is still looking to improve daily.
Avallone plans on furthering her wrestling career at Carl Albert State College. She plans on majoring in criminal justice and hopes to get a law degree.
