Venables Says Mateer is Progressing
We had the first official day of practice in the college football ranks yesterday, as well. As fall camp is here for OU, Oklahoma State and Tulsa.
In Norman, there is still a lot of buzz around second year starting quarterback John Mateer.
Mateer had his first year in the SEC and at OU as a starter last fall. The season was marred by injury and some inconsistencies. Still, the Sooners qualified for the College Football Playoff and Mateer had some high highs.
Sooner head coach Brent Venables says Mateer has continued to progress into year No. 2.
OU’s first game will be on Friday, Sept. 4 against UTEP. We will carry Sooner football this fall on 100.1 – KYFM.
