The Wesleyan Christian School Mustang guys basketball team is off to a 3-1 start to begin the year. WCS has won three straight after a season-opening loss to Riverfield.

Wesleyan Christian has surrendered an average of 33.7 points-per-game since giving up 57 in the loss to Riverfield last month.

Head coach Steven Cooks says defense is going to have to be the Mustang’s calling card this winter.

Wesleyan Christian will face Cedar Vale-Dexter in the semifinals of the tournament tonight. WCS got an opening round win over South Coffeyville on Tuesday.

Cooks says he likes the weeklong tournament format, as his guys can learn from their games in preparation for the semifinals and finals.

A scheduled 5:30 tip between WCS and Cedar Vale Dexter on Tuesday night for the other boy’s semifinal in the Copan Shootout. Copan also faces Caney Valley at 8:30 PM.
