WCS Football Strong Numbers in Fall

Wesleyan Christian School is touting solid numbers and high expectations, as the Mustangs open 2024 with a new crop of players and a new head coach.

WCS has been one of the better Class C programs in the state over the past three years, hosting playoff games each of those seasons. After a large senior class graduated in May, former head coach Curt Cloud stepped away from his football coaching duties, as his son heads to college.

First year skipper Blaine Landers was on hand during our preview show this past weekend.

Landers says the holes have been filled and the numbers are strong with WCS football.

The first week of practice is in the books. WCS is considering a trip to Copan for a scrimmage this weekend. Regardless, the first game action is about 10 days away.

Landers talks about his first official week of practice on the job.

WCS begins its season at home against Yale on Friday, Aug. 30.

The Mustangs are again in the same District as Copan, Class B-II District 4, with the likes of with Arkoma, Gans, Copan, Webbers Falls and Wilson-Henryetta.
