Young Dewey Softball Squad Starting Strong
The Dewey Lady Bulldogger softball team is off to a 6-5 start on the season and have faced some stiff competition, having played three Class 6A teams, one of which was a win over Sand Springs.
Dewey Coach Nicole Keck says a few of those losses have also been key district matchups, but added that they are working through some injuries they hope to get over in the next couple of weeks. Keck goes around the horn and talks about some of the players who have stepped up to make a difference early.
This year's Dewey softball squad has ten freshman on it. Keck said if they are to get over the hump later on this season, those younger players will need to step up.
The Lady Bulldoggers will host the Dewey Festival this weekend. They will open with Vinita on Friday.
