Bartlesville Man Seen on Felony Kidnapping Charge

A Bartlesville man was seen in Washington County Court this Thursday on the felony charge of kidnapping, and misdemeanor charge of threat to perform an act of violence. Tyler Steven Guthrie was arrested on Wednesday after a call was made from the victim to police.

According to an affidavit, Guthrie allegedly called the victim and told her he would kill her and falsely claimed he had killed his own mother. The victim said Guthrie previously been acting erratic towards her while staying with her previously after losing his job.

When the police arrived at the residence, Guthrie was there with the victim and was arrested. The victim later told police that Guthrie had taken her phone and would not let her leave the house when she attempted multiple times. Guthrie was given a $100,000 bond for both cases and his next court date is set for May 31st.
