The Copan Lakeside Fireworks display originally scheduled for Saturday, July 5 has been postponed until Labor Day.

Organizers say high water levels at Copan Lake and the closure of Copan Point Beach during the holiday weekend are the reasons for the delay. They say parking for the fireworks show would have been extremely limited because of the temporary closure of Copan Point.

Organizers also say it would be a safety concern with people parking vehicles along narrow roads and highways due to the beach’s closure.
