Be Safe When Shooting Off Fireworks

Ty Loftis
The American Red Cross wants to remind everyone to stay safe during this Fourth of July weekend. To do that, they are offering a few of the following safety tips when handling fireworks.
When lighting fireworks, always use proper eye protection and light them away from any trees or buildings that could be prone to catching fire. Never point them at anyone or anything and don't let small children handle fireworks. Be sure spectators are far away from the display and keep water or a fire extinguisher close by.
As a reminder, Bartlesville Fire Chief H.C. Call says fireworks aren't permitted within the city limits of Bartlesville.
