OKU Baseball Back With New Look in 2026

Oklahoma Union baseball is into their second full month of the season starting this week.
The Cougars, following last year's historic run to their first ever state tournament, lost almost all of last year's team going into this season, including all nine starters. With a young bunch, OKU is 1-11 overall.
Aside from a completely new look on the field, the Cougars have a new head coach as well. Logan Bernard is in his first season at the helm after the departure of former head coach Aaron Funkhouser. Funkhouser is currently an assistant coach with Bartlesville High baseball. At OKU, Bernard was previously an assistant at OKU before the promotion to head coach this season.
Through the first 12 games, the Cougars have been led by Ty Almy, Wyatt Maxey and Cooper Hill. Almy leads the team in batting average at .290, Maxey and Hill share the team lead in strikeouts on the mound with 28. Maxey has pitched 17.1 innings, Hill has thrown 15 innings.
The Cougars are back in action on Thursday on the road for Chelsea, weather permitting.
